2006 Democrat and Republican Candidate Filings

The following Democratic and Republican Party candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Attorney General, Comptroller General, Superintendent of Education, Adjutant General, Commissioner of Agriculture, US House of Representatives, Solicitor and SC House of Representatives have filed Statement of Intention of Candidacy forms with their respective parties.  The names of those candidates who are unopposed in seeking their parties' nominations will not appear on primary ballots.

COLUMBIA, SC— SEC Executive Director Marci Andino today urged all New Orleans’ Hurricane Katrina evacuees, who have temporarily relocated to South Carolina, to immediately contact the Louisiana Secretary of State in order to participate in the upcoming Orleans Parish elections. Elections postponed in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will be held April 22 and May 20.
